Hello my sweet girl-
My sweet baby girl-
I am so happy to become your mom! I have wanted you from the moment I wanted to have a family! I love feeling your kicks, feels like little flutters in my belly! I already love you so so much! I can’t wait to meet you! Your blog is going to start a little different than your brothers.
It has taken me a little time to write a post for you because we had a stressful/scary beginning to your life. To make a long story short we had some genetic testing done because a test came back elevated for Turner’s syndrome. After 4 weeks of stress, genetic counselor, ultrasounds, and lots of blood work we finally decided to get an amniocentesis to rule out whether you will have Turners or not. So wecould be prepared but ALL tests came back negative!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness! We had all your chromosomes laid out and evaluated. YOU ARE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!
The first trimester was pretty easy. I was never sick, I just had moments where I didn’t feel right and coffee didn’t taste good. But it does now, thank goodness! I was always tired but with your brother I had no time to really be tired. He is a wiggle worm…always busy!
My little love bug-
YOU ARE GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER! We are expecting a little girl on December 7th! We can’t be more excited! You will be such a good big brother!
I can’t believe you are 21 months old! Where does the time go! Your personality is coming out more and more! I love it, you are such a sweet boy. I will be sitting on the couch and you will run up to me and give me a hug and say HI! (over and over again) It is simply the cutest! You even do it with Dad, Nan, and grandma! You also love saying ‘good morning’ too! The beginning of May you had a lot of extra time with Nan. She came to watch you until we found a nanny. I know that she loved every second with you! You really got to know each other! You love to repeat a lot of the words/saying we say like silly boy and big boy and naughty boy, lol! We let you watch a limited amount of TV/Ipad time and you seems to gravitate toward the cartoon Peppa Pig. She is a little pig and its about her and her family. You also love to watch this truck show called Stinky and Dirty. Its about a garbage truck and a loader and the trials and tribulations that friends have. Both shows are pretty cute and you learn from them. You really are not interested in Little Baby bums any longer. These last three months you have really changed in eating. You are still a vegetarian but you seem to change on a daily basis what you like. It is so hard to keep up with it! One day you will love blue berries and the next day you won’t touch them. Same goes from mangoes, pineapple and cantelope…I hope you won’t be a picky eater! You love peanut butter sandwiches(with jelly and or bananas), popcorn, applesauce, meatless chicken nuggets, french fries, potatoes, squash, meatless tofu sausage, lasanga, pancakes, french toast, eggs, toast, crackers and hummus…oh and pizza….you love pizza!! We are starting to talk to you more and more about the potty. We almost always know when you are pooping you are in the crouch/squat position and grunting, hehe! Peeing is a different story but in July you started waking up with dry diapers after naps so we want to start showing and talking more about the potty. Plus, we would like for you to be potty trained before your sister comes to visit. I recently bought you some pull up, which you seem to like more than your diapers. You still love to be read too. We read to you every night. Some of your favorite books are The Big Red Barn, The Little Blue Truck books(3), Quick as a Cricket, The Very Bad Bunny(your dad’s old book when he was little), Peppa Pig Adventure books(5) and the Great Green Room to name a few. You still love to be outside and you are definitely a boys boy. You love your trucks and cars. You still like playing with chalk but not as much as you use too. You would rather go explore or play with one of your trucks or cars. Mom bought you a scooter and a tricycle but you would rather push them then sit/stand on them. I know that you will eventually use them. We have a small plastic pool that you love to play in. You love to splash and blow bubbles. You are like a fish in water! Teaching you to swim will be easy I think. We also have a sand box that you like playing in but its hard for you to understand in order to play in the sand box the sand has to stay in the box. lol, you like to scoop it on to the cement;) At this point you can say all of the ABC’s and you can sing the ABC song even the ending (next time won’t you sing with me). You can also sing Twinkle Twinkle and BINGO and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Debbie our old but new nanny is teaching you more songs everyday. She is amazing and we are so glad we rehired her!! She is so good to you! She takes you to the grocery store, her house, the park, beach and takes you on walks almost every day! I know that you love it!
You are definitely getting closer to the “terrible” twos…you have started throwing tantrums. But it is sooo cute…you super man dive on the floor and then roll over to make sure we are watching you and you scream and cry….the good thing is that it doesn’t last long and it doesn’t happen very often. You also have been biting your nails (fingers and toes) We are always telling you to get you hands out of your mouth. I hope you don’t bite your nails its not a good habit. Mom use to bite her nails but was able to stop on her own but dad still does.
July 4th week we went back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends. You had a blast with Gunner and Gemma. All three of you were screaming and playing by running in and out of the formal dinning room at Nan’s house. It was so cute I have never heard you scream like that before. It was nice that you all played so well together. We went to the Skemp Farm to watch the fireworks and you played in the back of Pop’s pick up truck with your cousins and had a blast running back and forth! Not too interested in the fireworks but that was okay. We also say Grandma and Pop in Milwaukee. We took you to a little kiddie pool where we literally ran after you while you splashed in the pool. You love water!! We also saw some of Mom’s best friends. We went and played with Leslie and her two boys Grayson and Ari. They were a little more rambunctious than you are (they are older) but you loved playing with all of the trucks and cars they had. You also went to visit Jackie and her two boys, Beau and Warren. We swam in there pool. When we first got there you were very shy and stayed out of the water but then once the pool cleared you started jumping into the pool all by yourself….over and over and over again! No fear! I loved watching you! Triffina, Mom’s good friend, came to see you when we were there! She couldn’t believe how much you have grown!
You can see that we had a busy first part of the summer! I love you more than words! I can’t believe I have such a sweet, smart and curious little boy! You are my heart, I love you!
My love bug –
You are my sweetest little boy. You are so smart! You know all of your ABC’s. You can count to 100! You can recognize small words like mom, dad, nan, pop when they are written. You are also talking up a storm. You like to repeat what we say alot. You can even recognize animals and what they say…dog says woof! You are just starting to get a little personality. You are very easy going. You don’t make much of a fuss! Of course, sometimes when we want you to go inside from playing outside and you don’t want too, we hear about it. You just sit down and get upset! I don’t ever see a tear but you show that you are made! You love to play with chalk outside. You are really good at making strike marks on the ground. You always ask mom and dad to draw ovals, circle, suns and trees. You love for us to draw numbers and letters and shapes with chalk and then you walk over to them and almost check them off. It is soo cute and it proves how smart you are!! You are like a sponge! You also love to be read too. Your favorite books are these small baby books about colors, touch and feel books, Pout Pout fish ABC book, Chicka chicka boom boom, numbers books and I love you night and day. You are a pretty good sleeper. You are still nursing, again, I never thought that I would nurse you this long but it just works for us! Its not much only at night and mornings. I love our special time together. You love to take baths and showers. We have some foam like ABC/123 letters that you love to stick to the wall and say over and over. Again, its just why you are so smart..you live and breath learning and it comes so natural to you. In the mornings you love to eat toast with peanut butter and bananas. Eggs with tofu sausage and oatmeal. You love gold fish! We buy it in bulk at costco! Yes, you are still vegetarian! Honestly, you barley even eat cheese and we don’t give you any milk. You still drink nut milk (almond and cashew mixed milk) You love drinking water and it is extremely rare that you get apple juice(that I water down).
We will be having some visitors for Easter. Grandma and Papa and Alana will be flying from WI to visit us. They will stay for 4-5 days. We are going to an Easter Egg hunt that we went to when you were about 8 months old and you were pretty unsure of what it was. This time you had much more fun. There was a petting zoo with a few animals. You liked to just look. But they had a bunch of games that you loved playing with. Bricks that you could stack and knock down and a large connect four game…you were in heaven. When it came time to sit on the Easter bunnies lap, you were not having it. I barely could get a photo of you on his lap. You had so much fun with Grandma and Papa and Alana. They spoiled you! At the end of April we are going to North Carolina for your great great uncle Toby (who passed away about 10 years ago from brain cancer) golf outing. It is great way for us to catch up with the Skemp side of the family! They all loved meeting you and playing with you! Pop and Nan rented a house on the beach. You LOVED the ocean! You enjoyed the waves chasing you on the beach! You were so worn out after that outing! It was nice to see everyone and celebrate Toby’s life!
We also have to look for another nanny. Debbie had a hernia repair and couldn’t lift you and she also needs more time for her kids over the summer. So Nan came back with us from NC to watch you for a couple weeks until we could find a new nanny! This is one of the most difficult things that I have to do is find someone that loves you and takes care of you as much as I do….which is impossible but I have to work for a few more months until we get a replacement at our business for me and then I hope to only work 2 days a week or so. Long story short it was nice to have Nan take such good care of you but in the end we did choose a new nanny named Taylor. I hope she does such a good job taking care of you! It would break my heart if she doesn’t!
I love watching you grow and learn. I love you so much, words can’t even describe!
To my love, Graham- You are one smart little boy! You catch on so quickly! You can already say and acknowledge a handful of letters and numbers. Right now you can say A, D, F, O, S, T, X, and Z. For numbers you can say 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. You can tell me what a cow says and what a duck says. You are only 15 months. This type of knowledge is with a 3-4 year old. You love to see and play with letters and numbers. I want you to know that we are not pushing you to learn anything. You just pick it up so quickly and easily! Its funny when you are just relaxing if your crib we can hear you saying letters and numbers to yourself. You are so smart and I am so so proud of you! You are such a busy body. The only time you are still is when you are watching nursery rhymes on our Ipad. Watching you, it seems that you are always working. You love to push everything! I bought you a battery powered four wheeler and you don’t like riding it but you love to push it! In fact you love to push most things…even your mom! Its the cutest thing because you can’t communicate you get behind me and push me where you want me to go with you. You are such a boy too. Love to play in puddles and you don’t mind getting dirty, which I encourage. You are also not afraid of much. You test all boundaries. You will run anywhere and in any direction. You climb all over the couches. You have even climbed out of your crib and fell to the floor(time for us to lower your mattress). It barely phased you! You have bumps and bruises demonstrating how rough and tumble you are. In that same breath, you are such a sweet boy too. You love to give kisses and be cuddled! You are still nursing but only in the mornings and at night. I never imagined that I would nurse this long but it just seems to work and I love those moments with you! Plus, it gives you a lot of good nutrients! You had the tubes put into your ears January 6th 2017. The surgery was like 15 minutes and since then you have slept better and (if its possible) been even happier than before. I am glad that we did the surgery and you have never looked back. We had Christmas back in Wisconsin, again. It was a quick week long trip. You were spoiled by both families! You are just getting the hang of tearing wrapping paper to get to your gifts. You don’t really understand that there is a gift inside it. Your presents consisted of a play farm, books, puzzles and clothes. You loved your great Grandmother, Arlene and Harlo house. They have a large foyer and you ran back and forth, back and forth. Not sure what you like about that area but you were drawn to that area! You were a pleasure to travel with. The key was in the airport we just let you run in the airport to wear of an extra energy. You enjoyed watching us take off and land! You love going to one of several recreation centers in Virginia. They have a huge pool, with a large kiddy area that has fountains in it. You love the fountains! YOU LOVE THE WATER! I am so happy that you love the water so much! I can’t wait until summer so we can enjoy the beach again! I know that I say this almost every post but you are the light of my life! I wake up every morning thinking of you and go to sleep every night thinking of you! I can’t really express into words what you mean to me but you truly are a gift and I enjoy so so much watching you learn and grow every single day!
Height 31.5 inches
Weight 26 lbs
Teeth: 12, four front teeth(upper and lower), four molars (middle upper and middle lower)
I love watching you grow and learn. I can’t image what you will achieve by my next entry. You will be 18 months!
I love you,
Happy birthday my love!!!! You are a year old, oh my goodness! Where did the time go! It flew by! You are the best little boy. I could not have asked for a better son! You are seriously the light of my life! When you came along you flipped my world but in the best way possible! I love watching you grow and learn. You are very coordinated for your age and you learn quickly. You are very independent but when mom is nearby you feel very safe testing your boundaries! You love to play with bouncy balls. You love to throw EVERYTHING…baseball player maybe?? Haha. You are too cute. You will be running down our hallway towards the living room. Dad and I will be on the couch and you will run in and smile the biggest smile….like ta-da, here I am…look at me!! It is cute! You love to play with your vtech train set. It has a tunnel and you to push things through to the other side. So smart! You can say da da da, la, ba, ta! It is so cute because you look at me and say da, ba, ta and you think that I understand you because I respond to you like, yeah, go on, I understand….I love it! We kinda have our own language:) You love to sing and be sung too.
You dislike: Sleeping and napping. I think its because you don’t want to miss anything! I still love you so so much!!
Achievements: You have achieved so much in a year! You walked by 9 1/2 months. You have eaten only a vegetarian diet. You still breast feed as i am writing this. You have had 5 ear infections so we are in the process for scheduling you for ear tube surgery. I think it will help you sleep and prevent any more ear infections! You can say Da and Ma. You love ot sing and be sung too! You love music and watching nursery rhymes. You can feed yourself pretty much anything…but you are a disaster after. Dad doesn’t like when you get dirty. Mom loves it! You can drink from a sippy cup and a camelbak water bottle. You have only had water and breast milk at this point. I don’t think we are going to give you soda or juice. I guess I can’t stop Grandma’s from giving you some but Mom and Dad will not. It is just not good for you! You love to play at the park and will walk up to any kid and just stand there looking at them. It’s so funny because they don’t understand why you are just standing there not saying anything! You can go up and down stairs all by yourself. You are really good at it too! You love to play in the toilet. I usually let you watch/help me flush(as I hold your hands down so you won’t put your hands in the water). You seem so mesmerized by it! You love to be read too. We read 6 or more books to you every night before you go to bed. You poop almost like clock work. I can almost tell when you are going to poop…which will make potty training easy, I hope! Also, whether you pee or poop you are always in the crouching position. So funny!
Your birthday celebrating was fun! Unfortunately, it was just the three for us but it was still fun! Of course, I had a banner made, blew up balloons, made a cake with a little smash cake for you! You smashed the heck out of it! You got lots of gifts for you birthday like books, clothes and toys! That evening we had family pictures taken. They turned out amazing! You were a little ham! You are so happy!

Looking forward too: Since you turned one I am only going to post every three months until you are two years old, hopefully! Also, Mom and Dad created a time capsule for you to open up when you turn 21 years old. It should be interesting!! I look forward to watching you grew into a caring, considerate, brilliant, vegetarian/vegan young man! You are my greatest adventure and I am so glad to be your mother!
I love you,
